Alain is an employment law specialist and the face of The Employment Desk. He has more than 10 years of experience in employment law and has completed more than 500 cases.
From the large firms to his own practice
Alain started in 2017 as an employment lawyer (advocaat) at AKD. From 2020 to 2026 he worked as a senior employment lawyer (advocaat) at Workx Advocaten.
He now works as an independent employment law specialist. That is a deliberate choice. For the work he does today, advising and negotiating on settlement agreements, the title of advocaat no longer adds anything. Except higher costs, and those ultimately end up with the client. The specialisation, the experience and the knowledge have stayed.
Who Alain works for
Alain helps highly educated professionals and managers: counsel, directors, CFOs, statutory directors. Often expats. People with a serious position, a serious salary and often a bonus, RSUs or stock options. That is exactly where the greatest financial interest lies when you leave, and exactly where things most often go wrong in a settlement agreement.
